Beautiful Lake County

If you’re looking for a home somewhere near the water, then a home in Lake County, Florida, may suit you down to the ground.  With over 1400 named lakes in the area (and a few unnamed ones as well), this is an area for enjoying water sports of all kinds.

Lake County is located almost in the centre of Florida.  Not only is it notable for its many lakes (17.5% of Lake County’s area is water), but it also contains Sugarloaf Mountain, the highest point in the Florida Peninsula.  At about 300 feet above sea level, Sugarloaf Mountain is hardly one of the great peaks of the world, but it certainly helps Lake County literally stand head and shoulders above the surrounding counties.

Like many areas that Bahia Real Estate has listings, Lake County has magnificent golf courses and tourist attractions.  Those interested in living or visiting Lake County will find that the attractions on offer in Lake County are much more down-to-earth and natural than the bright lights and long queues of Disney World and others of that type.  Instead, Lake County offers experiences that put you in touch with the natural world.  As you can imagine, the fishing in Lake County is terrific – with all those lakes to choose from, how could it not be?  Nature trails through wetlands rich in bird life are other attractions.

For those who are after more of an adrenaline rush, there’s plenty of that to be had out on the water, and beside it, too.  With plenty of marinas on the lakes, water sports of all paces and types can be fun.  If you own a boat, then living in Lake County will give you plenty of chances to have fun on the water.  And for a real thrill, one operator offers thrill-seekers a chance to drive a monster truck through an alligator swamp.

Lake County offers residents a relaxed pace of life away from the bright lights and bustle of the big city.  Bahia Real Estate has listings in this area, whether you’re after a family home, a holiday home or a place to retire.
